In the first semester we will learn about many cultures in order to strengthen intercultural sensitivity. We will study our own cultures as well as others using a cultural anthropological approach. We will also examine how and when all the different approaches to life can come into conflict. In the second semester we will look at how all the different cultures interact to form Modern Cosmopolitism. What does it mean environment, economy and other resources, and problems are shared collectively? What does it mean to be a local or global citizen? In the latter half of the semester we will exercise our personal voices through public projects. Requirements: In this class you will make your own website portfolio that you will post all your work from the semester on. This blog will then be graded as a portfolio in the final week of each semester. Grade: Participation 25% Blog Entries (BE) 25% Blog Reflections (BR)25% Unit final assignments (UFA) 25% Blog assignments will get 2 grades.
